Ravi Kumar
You don’t need an introduction,As a part of the formality, can you please tell our Readers a little about yourself?

Taposh, first of all thanks for having me on your blog, and it’s my pleasure to be here.

For those who don’t know me yet, I’m Ravi Kumar from a small city “Jhumri Telaiya”. I am a computer engineer by education and a blogger, Internet Marketer by Profession.

I run various blogs including where I write about Blogging tips, SEO, WordPress, Blogger, Web Designing, Technology, Business marketing, Search engine marketing, Make Money online, Affiliate marketing and many other topic which can be helpful for any blogger, Webmaster and an Intrepreneur etc.

How many hours do you spend per day on your blog(s)?

One of the best part about professional blogging is, there is no fixed time for work. The flexibility comes with my own preference, but I require minimum of 6-7 hours everyday to work on my blogs. On an average I work at least 8 hours every-day, and sometime it goes to working 10-12 hours non-stop.

In present time, How many blogs you are running? Tell about them something?

I am running more than 10 blogs on different niche. Majority of my blogs are self hosted wordPress blogs but I am also using blogger platform for few blogs where I get large amount of traffic. Most of the people know me due to but it would be surprising for you to know that I am making more from other blogs.

I never revealed anywhere about my other blogs or forums due to bad experience of other bloggers. For example- Kulwant nagi of informed 5-6 months ago in his article that, his friend’s site lost traffic when he revealed about the same site in his blog.

I run few other blogs and forums which are doing well so I don’t feel any need to reveal them.

List of Paid or Free Tools, you are using?

I highly recommend below given tools/Plugins to WordPress Users:

(1) WordPress SEO by Yoast – If you don’t want to invest money on Premium SEO plugin, this plugin is undoubtedly the best one in market. It allows you to Optimize your blog contents for Search Engines.

(2)W3 Total Cache – It is one of the best caching plugin for WordPress. I is extremely helpful in making your blog faster.

(3) OptinMonster- Although I stopped using it at, still I recommend this to wordPress users because it can be really helpful in getting Email Subscribers.

(4) All in One WP Security & Firewall Plugin – This is the best Security plugin for wordPress which is available for free.

(5) Genesis Framework – I am using genesis from last 5-6 months and am really satisfied with it.

(6)CommentLuv Premium – This plugin encourage your readers to comment. Apart from this, it also provide lotmore features.

(7)Nofollow for external link –I am using this plugin as it converts all external links to no-follow(until and unless you modify links manually).

(8)nrelate Flyout – it display related contents on the corner. It is helpful in reducing bounce rate.

(9) SocialFans Counter –It’s a paid plugin which adds a beautiful social fans counter widget.

Apart from above mentioned plugins, I am using normal plugins which are used by almost all wordPress users. Please note that, excess use of plugins can affect your page loading time.

Have you ever made mistakes as a newbie blogger? If yes, what were they and what lesson did you learn from them?

I am a self taught blogger who learned from his mistakes. When I was new in blogging, I made so many mistakes. The first mistake that I made was creation of large number of blogs on blogger platform without any goal.

The second mistake was starting a multi-niche blog without a team. If you don’t have a team of bloggers or writers, it would be extremely difficult for you to run a multi-niche blog.

The third mistake was hesitation in investing money on my blog. Later on, I realized that it’s almost impossible to make big money without doing investments on premium products.

According to you, what are the must use Plugins for a WordPress user?

I have already suggested few plugins which should be used by every WordPress users.

According to you, What’s the best and worst features of WordPress?

The best feature of WordPress is its support for Plugins which makes the task of users simple. Plugins allow even non-coders to customize the look and working of their blog. The worst part according to me is its problematic behavior after an update. Although, it doesn’t always happen.

The new Bloggers often find it difficult to drive traffic to their blog. When you were new to blogging, how did you manage to bring lots of traffic to your blogs?

Traffic is an important part because it decides your earnings. When I started blogging seriously, I focused on methods like Guest Posting, Blog commenting, Engagment in Social Media etc for driving traffic.

These days, you can also use blogging communities like BlogEngage, dosplash etc for driving quality traffic to your blog. It’s actually your blog’s content which decides your traffic. If your blog has low quality contents, you won’t be able to drive massive traffic consistently.

How can a new blogger make a decent income from his blog?

For making decent income, you must have traffic on your blog and to get traffic, you should write quality contents on your blog. Here Quality content means a blog post with original contents. On internet, more than 55% bloggers are just re-writing the post of others. This is not the way to do well.

For making decent income, focus on affiliate marketing, sponsored post and sponsored review. If you are new, write at least 10 high quality reviews of any product for free. After that, companies will start contacting you for the review and you will have some chances of making good money.

I have not mentioned Google Adsense here because it doesn’t work too well for a blog which cover articles about web development and making money from it. However, if you have a blog on niche like health and insurance, you can make decent income from it as well.

If a website has good content, it is necessary to get good page rank for higher serp? How Pagerank effect serp?

I don’t believe much on PageRank. If your site has good content which are shared by your readers on their social networks, your site will definitely do better in SERPs. Google or any other search engines give priority to contents which are trusted and shared more. Instead of worrying about PR, try to work on Domain Authority. A site with high domain authority do well in SERPs.

PageRank is just a matrics for measuring the quality of any site. Companies give importance to PR stats. It means if you have higher PR, you can ask for more money.

Do you think of a new website after getting Pagerank they will see some traffic?

There is no any assurity that an increase in PR will increase your traffic. On last PR update, many bloggers in my network got PR 4-5 but majority of them contacted me later because they were not getting that much traffic.

If your site has good content and has higher PR then you have the chances of getting first page ranking on SERPs. If you managed to do that, your traffic will increase. That’s the point.

How do you Monetize your Blog?

I have so many blogs and forums. To monetize them, I use Google Adsense, Affiliate Marketing, Sponsored Post, Sponsored review and Offering my own services. Out of all, I make most out of Affiliate Marketing and Sponsored reviews/posts.Google Adsense works well only on my health and education blog.

What is your current traffic and earning stats?

In my busy schedule, I hardly check my traffic. Anyway, I am attaching the screenshot of my traffic at http://www.geteverything which was captured by me in December 2013. As far as earnings are concerned, I have never revealed it anywhere.

For your hint, I am making more than $10,000 per month.

Can you share some memorable moments of your Blogging journey?

So many memorable moments are there in my Blogging Journey but I want to share only a few moments. As you all know, I am from a Jhumri Telaiya which is a small city so people don’t really know about it.

When I started working 7-8 hours in front of computers, my parents were very worried thinking I was wasting time on Facebook and Orkut. When they realized that I am making money from it, they started supporting me.

Another great moment was 3 years ago. I was in New Delhi in vacations. Whatever money I had in my pocket, I spent them on luxuries. At the end of the month, I had nothing. At that point of time, I received more than Rs 30,000 from Adsense and around Rs 5,000 from Infolinks which solved my problems.

Say something about my blog?

As far as the contents of your blog are concerned, you are doing a great job.

Any advice that you can give to our readers for their success?

Never copy the style or content of others because when you do that, you lose your originality . “Be yourself because everyone else is already taken“. Always follow the quote “Never change your originality for the sake of others. Because no one can play your role better than you. So be yourself. You are the best”
